Bank Windhoek launches digital procurement platform via SAP Ariba
Bank Windhoek has launched a new digital procurement platform powered by SAP Ariba, marking a milestone in the institution’s digital transformation and modernization efforts. As the first fully locally owned entity in Namibia to implement SAP Ariba, the bank now connects its operations and suppliers to a global network spanning 190 countries.
The platform is designed to streamline procurement, purchasing, and supply chain processes by connecting buyers and suppliers through the SAP Business Network. It provides a self-service digital environment where suppliers can register, maintain profiles, and participate in sourcing activities such as formal tenders, Requests for Quotations (RFQs), and reverse auctions.
Financial Director Zenaune Kamberipa stated that the platform aims to enhance visibility, strengthen engagement, and support inclusive participation within the bank’s procurement activities. The bank has also updated its website’s procurement page and is specifically encouraging Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and local businesses to create digital profiles to access potential opportunities.
