Banki Pur by‑election: RJD vows strong challenge to BJP

RJD spokesperson Shakti Yadav said the party will contest the Banki Pur assembly by‑election with full strength and give the BJP a harsh answer. He criticised the BJP and the state government over the handling of the Bharat Tiwari death case, alleging a lack of accountability and calling for an inquiry into the police encounter.

BJP MLC Navl Kishore Yadav described Banki Pur as a BJP stronghold, rejected claims that Prashant Kishor’s campaign had a decisive impact, and backed the government's plan to implement a Uniform Civil Code. He also commented on India‑Pakistan relations, suggesting that a merger of Pakistan into India would resolve bilateral issues.
