Banking options and loan requirements for retirees
Financial institutions offer various loan products tailored for retirees and pensioners to manage unexpected expenses such as medical costs or home repairs. These options typically include pension-linked credits, personal loans with fixed terms, and secured loans requiring collateral.
In Argentina, several banks provide specific lines for retirees. Banco Nación offers the Nación Previsional BNA, allowing amounts up to $50 million with terms up to 72 months. Banco Ciudad provides the Ciudad Veloz line for ANSES beneficiaries, with limits up to $40 million. Banco Provincia allows for the commitment of up to 35% of net liquid income toward loan payments.
In other regions, such as Guatemala, requirements for these loans generally include being a resident, being between the ages of 18 and 84, providing proof of address, and demonstrating a history of consistent deposits. Digital applications through banking apps are increasingly common for managing these requests.
