Banking sector shifts from physical branches to digital services

The banking landscape is undergoing a significant transformation as physical branches are increasingly decommissioned in favor of digital and virtual services. While many retail sectors face decline, banks have successfully transitioned their operations to the homes of their clients through mobile applications and online platforms.

This shift toward dematerialization has changed the nature of banking labor. Tasks previously performed by bank employees are now managed by the customers themselves. Although marketed as a convenience, this transition reflects a broader move toward digitalizing financial transactions and reducing the need for physical infrastructure and traditional staff.
