Bankinter and Eni report significant profit growth in Q3 2026

Bankinter reported a net profit of approximately 901 million euros for the first nine months of 2026, an 11% increase compared to the same period in 2025. The bank's results were driven by growth in client activity, revenue diversification, and disciplined management. Key metrics included a record net interest margin of 1,762 million euros and a gross margin of 2,397 million euros. Despite the strong earnings, the bank's stock experienced a decline in the market, which investment firm Jefferies described as “exaggerated,” maintaining a buy recommendation due to attractive entry points.

Italian energy company Eni also reported substantial growth, with net profit reaching 7,595 million euros for the first nine months of 2026, a 202% increase year-over-year. This surge was largely attributed to rising crude oil and natural gas prices. In the third quarter alone, Eni's net profit reached 3,205 million euros, quadrupling the results from the previous year. Consequently, the company's board approved an extraordinary dividend of 0.46 euros per share, to be paid in December, in addition to its ordinary dividend.
