BankIslami launches aikTijarat merchant app in Pakistan

BankIslami has launched aikTijarat, Pakistan’s first Shariah-compliant digital merchant and business application. The platform is designed to separate merchant and business operations from the standard consumer ecosystem, providing tools specifically tailored to how businesses earn, pay, and grow.

The app allows shopkeepers, small traders, and service providers to open Shariah-compliant business accounts through a fully digital onboarding process using CNIC and biometric verification, eliminating the need for branch visits. Once onboarded, merchants can use static and dynamic QR codes via Raast to collect payments, pay utility bills and suppliers directly from their business balance, and manage transactions with digital receipts via smartphone.

BankIslami officials stated that the initiative supports the Prime Minister’s vision for a cashless Pakistan and the State Bank’s ‘Go-Cashless’ agenda by digitizing the merchant counter.
