Banks in Egypt and Syria warn of increasing financial fraud

Financial institutions in Egypt and Syria have issued warnings regarding increasing fraudulent activities targeting customers.

The Central Bank of Egypt warned against scam calls from individuals impersonating bank employees or financial officials. These scammers aim to steal personal and banking data to conduct fraudulent transactions. The bank emphasized that customers should never share confidential banking information with callers and urged caution against tactics involving pressure or false incentives.

In Syria, the Commercial Bank of Syria warned of fraudulent links and advertisements circulating on social media and various websites. These scams falsely claim to offer gifts, prizes, or profitable surveys in the bank's name. The bank clarified that all official news and services are issued exclusively through its authorized channels and advised citizens not to click on unknown links or share personal information via untrusted sites.
