Banks in Pakistan expand digital and self-service banking

Financial institutions in Pakistan are expanding digital and self-service banking capabilities. ABHI Microfinance Bank has launched a ‘DIY Banking’ initiative aimed at digitizing its branch network. This ecosystem includes ATMs, Cash Deposit Machines (CDMs), and self-service kiosks, alongside an instant card printing service designed to reduce reliance on traditional counter-based banking.

Separately, Bank Alfalah has inaugurated Pakistan’s first Digital Islamic Consumer Finance Centre (ICFC) in Naya Nazimabad, Karachi. The center integrates digital consumer financing, an Islamic banking branch, and a self-service digital lobby. The model allows customers to browse inventories for homes, vehicles, and solar solutions, apply for Shariah-compliant financing digitally without paperwork, and receive instant credit assessments.
