Banky W announces new roles as pastor and professor

Nigerian singer, filmmaker, and entrepreneur Bankole Wellington, known professionally as Banky W, has announced his new roles as an associate pastor and professor in the United States.

Following his unsuccessful 2023 election bid, Wellington shared on social media that the experience prompted a period of spiritual reflection. He stated that he now serves as an associate pastor and global ambassador at Union Church, while also working as a teacher and leader at Union College.

Wellington noted that he does not view these new responsibilities as a departure from his previous career, but rather an expansion of his purpose. He intends to continue his work in music, film, and business alongside his ministry and educational roles, despite the challenges of traveling between Lagos and the United States.
