Banobras funds studies to fix El Realito aqueduct failures

The State Water Commission (CEA) and the Mexican government are conducting comprehensive studies to address recurring failures in the El Realito dam aqueduct. Banobras has authorized 20 million pesos to fund feasibility studies aimed at identifying technical, financial, and legal alternatives to improve the water supply for families in San Luis Potosí.

The diagnostic process includes a review of the current service contract with Aquos El Realito, S.A. de C.V., which may lead to a contract rescission. Banobras is currently managing the bidding process for these studies in coordination with the National Infrastructure Fund (Fonadin). A definitive position regarding the aqueduct's future is expected by the end of October following the review of the study results.
