Banobras to build specialized braking ramp on Highway 57
Banobras will invest approximately 250 million pesos to construct a specialized braking ramp on Highway 57 near the Querétaro municipality. The project, announced by Carlos García Villaseñor, the federal delegate of the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT), will be located on federal right-of-way before the entrance to the State Attorney General's Office.
Due to limited space that prevents the use of a conventional gravel-based ramp, which typically requires 150 to 300 meters, the project will utilize specialized technology. This innovative system, described as being similar to the arrestment mechanisms used on aircraft carriers, will use retention elements to stop heavy vehicles within a distance of approximately 150 meters. This new location allows the work to remain within federal land, eliminating the need to acquire private property.
