Banque de France issues economic outlook and AI transformation insights

The Banque de France has released economic projections and discussed the role of artificial intelligence in business transformation during recent regional conferences.

Nationally, French economic growth is projected to remain modest at 0.4% for 2026, with a potential rebound to 0.9% expected in 2027. Inflation is forecasted to reach 2.3% in 2026 before falling below the 2% threshold in 2027. While the economy faces challenges from international volatility and trade tensions, the employment sector remains resilient with an unemployment rate of 8.3%.

In the Île-de-France region, the economy is characterized by high-tech industrial activities, including aerospace, defense, and nuclear sectors, alongside high-value services such as IT and engineering. In the Aveyron region, economic dynamics are polarized; while the aerospace and luxury tourism sectors show strength, traditional accommodations and the construction sector are experiencing slowdowns. Regional businesses are noted for being managed cautiously, though cash flows are becoming increasingly tight.
