Banque du Caire reports 15% profit growth in H1 2026
Banque du Caire reported a 15% increase in net profit for the first half of 2026, reaching 8.6 billion Egyptian pounds compared to 7.5 billion pounds in the same period of 2025. Pre-tax profits rose by 19%, driven by growth in retail banking, treasury, corporate credit, and small and medium enterprises.
Operating revenues grew by 9% to 22.1 billion Egyptian pounds. Net income from interest increased by 11% to 18.3 billion pounds, while net fees and commissions rose by 14% to 3.3 billion pounds. Total assets reached 552 billion Egyptian pounds, a 4% increase from the end of 2025.
The bank's loan portfolio grew by 9% to 280.3 billion Egyptian pounds. Customer deposits increased by 10% to 440.4 billion Egyptian pounds, with individual deposits accounting for 60% of the total. The non-performing loan ratio stood at 3.6%, supported by a coverage ratio of 176%.
