Banque Populaire launches numberless card in Morocco
Banque Populaire has launched 'LA POPULAIRE NUMBERLESS', which is presented as the first bank card in Morocco to feature no visible card number or CVV. The initiative aims to enhance payment security by reducing the exposure of sensitive data in cases of card loss, theft, or unauthorized photography.
While the physical card lacks these details, cardholders can still access their full information through the bank’s secure mobile application, Pocket Bank. This move shifts the management of sensitive data from the physical medium to a digital environment.
The launch marks the third major payment innovation from the group in 2026. It follows the introduction of 'LA VIRTUELLE', a multi-use virtual card supporting Apple Pay and Google Pay, and 'L'INSTANT', a single-use ephemeral card. Through these releases, Banque Populaire continues to focus on the digitalization and security of banking data.
