Banreservas earmarks RD$5 billion for women‑led SMEs in Dominican Republic

Banco de Reservas (Banreservas) and Mastercard launched the second edition of the Summit Mujer Pymes Banreservas, a platform aimed at women entrepreneurs. The bank announced the availability of RD$5 billion for new financing to small and medium‑size enterprises led by women, to be provided at an annual interest rate of 12.95 %. With this injection, Banreservas raises its credit portfolio for women‑led SMEs to RD$32 billion.

The programme aligns with President Luis Abinader’s vision of expanding economic opportunities. Leonardo Aguilera, executive president of Banreservas, and senior executive vice‑president Ysidro García presented the initiative. Mastercard will complement the financing with free digital training covering electronic payments, personal finance, cybersecurity and entrepreneurship.
