Infosys lowers FY27 revenue growth guidance amid AI shifts

Infosys has reduced its revenue growth forecast for the financial year ending March 2027 to 1%–2% in constant currency, down from its previous guidance of 1.5%–3%. The company cited a challenging business environment, softer volumes in sectors like retail and high tech, and pricing pressures driven by competitive intensity and client productivity expectations.

Despite the lowered outlook, the company reported a 6.2% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 7,823 crore for the second quarter ended September. Revenue for the quarter rose 10.7% year-on-year to Rs 49,244 crore, slightly exceeding market expectations.

Artificial intelligence is playing a significant role in the company's performance; AI revenue accounted for 10.5% of total revenue during the quarter, representing a 29% sequential growth. The company also secured $5.2 billion in large deal total contract value, which included a mega deal exceeding $2 billion. While AI presents growth opportunities, the company noted that it is also reshaping the industry by challenging traditional staffing-based billing models as clients seek outcome-linked productivity gains.
