Banská Bystrica implements local infrastructure and school modernization projects
Banská Bystrica is implementing various local infrastructure and educational projects alongside larger investments totaling approximately 100 million euros. In the Podlavice district, the J. G. Tajovský Primary School is undergoing a modernization process to become a modern educational park. The first phase of this project is valued at approximately 1.29 million euros, with most funding secured from external sources. Improvements include renovated interiors, social facilities, courtyards, and new outdoor classrooms.
Additionally, the Na Lúčkach nursery school is installing a photovoltaic power plant on its roof to generate solar electricity for its own consumption, aiming to reduce operational costs.
Other municipal improvements across various districts include the construction of new sidewalks, the installation of semi-underground containers, and the development of the ‘Green Housing Estates’ project. This initiative focuses on revitalizing inner courtyards with greenery, water elements, and ecological solutions to improve the local microclimate and community spaces.
