Banská Bystrica opens reconstructed psychiatric clinic

The reconstructed psychiatric clinic of the Roosevelt Hospital in Banská Bystrica has officially opened. The project involved a comprehensive renovation of the historic 1901 building, which had been undergoing works since July 2024.

The modernized facility features improved amenities for both patients and staff, including private bathrooms in patient rooms and dedicated therapy spaces. The clinic has increased its capacity to 59 inpatient beds and 20 spots in a day care unit. The renovation included upgrades to medical equipment, information technology, and energy efficiency measures.

Supported by five million euros from European funds, the project aims to provide high-quality, dignified psychiatric care within the region.
