Banská Bystrica to host 368th Radvanský jarmok glassmaking festival

The 368th Radvanský jarmok is scheduled to take place in Banská Bystrica from September 10 to 13, 2026. This long-standing cultural event focuses on the region's historical connection to glassmaking, particularly within the Novohrad area.

Visitors will be able to observe the entire glass production process, including melting, blowing, shaping, grinding, and painting. The event aims to preserve traditional craftsmanship despite modern challenges such as high energy costs and a shortage of skilled workers. Featured participants include glassmakers from the partner city of Salgótarján, as well as masters from the Sonne Crystal company and local artisans.
