Banten authorities investigate industrial pollution in Cisadane River
The Banten Provincial Environmental and Forestry Service (DLHK) has conducted field verifications and water sampling at three industrial outlets along the Cisadane River in the Tangerang Raya area. This action follows community complaints regarding suspected water pollution.
During inspections in Serpong Utara, Pinang, and Tangerang, officials observed murky water, waste outlets flowing directly into the river, and illegal waste disposal activities. Water samples have been sent to the DLHK Banten Environmental Laboratory to test for parameters such as BOD, COD, TSS, pH, and heavy metal content. The agency stated that if laboratory results confirm violations of environmental quality standards, companies will face administrative sanctions and legal consequences under Law No. 32 of 2009.
