Banten authorities promote waste management and circular economy initiatives

Local authorities in Banten, Indonesia, are implementing initiatives to improve waste management through community education and circular economy programs.

In Binong Village, officials are conducting socialization and education regarding waste banks. The goal is to encourage residents to sort organic and inorganic waste at the household level. Village Head Sukri Ariansyah emphasized that waste management is a shared responsibility and that waste banks can provide economic benefits by turning waste into valuable materials.

In Cilegon, Mayor Robinsar is promoting the 'Kolaborasi Ekonomi Sirkular Kelola Sampah di Sekolah' (KOLASE) program. This initiative involves collaboration between schools and industries to manage waste and transform it into economic value. Currently, 120 schools are participating in the program, which aims to instill sustainable waste management habits in students from an early age.
