Banten Governor visits families of missing Arupadhatu 01 passengers

Banten Governor Andra Soni has visited the families of missing passengers from the Arupadhatu 01 vessel, which lost contact on September 7 in the waters near Anak Krakatau Island. The vessel was carrying eight people, including journalists Ari Basuki and Yudistiro Pranoto.

During a visit to Ari Basuki’s family in Depok, Governor Soni provided updates on the search operations. He noted that while the open joint search and rescue (SAR) operations were officially halted on September 17 after being deemed ineffective, alternative search methods continue. He also confirmed that DNA testing identified a body found in Enggano, North Bengkulu, on September 12 as Suratman, one of the eight passengers.

In a separate visit to the home of journalist Yudistiro Pranoto, the Governor offered prayers and support to the family. The families expressed gratitude for the provincial government's attention during the ongoing crisis.
