Banten Information Commission promotes transparency in local governments

The Banten Provincial Information Commission (KI), in collaboration with Commission I of the Banten Provincial DPRD, is actively promoting public information transparency among village and sub-district governments. During a technical guidance session in Tangerang Regency, KI Commissioner Zulpikar emphasized that citizens have a legal right to access information regarding government-funded development programs. He noted that every government agency must have an Information and Documentation Management Officer (PPID) to manage public data and encouraged citizens to file information disputes if their requests are denied.

In a separate effort, the Banten Information Commission conducted a monitoring and evaluation visitation to the South Tangerang City Government (Pemkot Tangsel). This visit served as the final stage of the 2026 Public Information Disclosure evaluation. Commissioner Ahmad Saparudin reported that South Tangerang has shown significant positive progress in its information services. The evaluation process involved cross-checking physical documents and facilities against six key indicators to ensure compliance with transparency standards.
