Banten Police transfer 150,000 smuggled lobster seeds case to prosecutors

The Banten Regional Police have officially transferred two suspects and related evidence to the Serang District Attorney's Office following an investigation into the illegal smuggling of 150,000 lobster seeds (BBL).

The case originated from an operation on September 4, 2026, at the Jakarta-Merak Toll Road in Serang, Banten. Authorities initially apprehended a suspect identified by the initials FIR. Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of a second suspect, AZ, who was found to have actively assisted in the smuggling process.

During the initial seizure, police recovered a yellow Mitsubishi Colt Diesel truck containing 30 styrofoam boxes filled with approximately 150,000 lobster seeds. The transfer of the case, known as Stage II, follows the completion of the investigation files, moving the matter toward a formal trial.
