Banten Provincial Government addresses principal vacancies and bureaucratic performance

The Banten Provincial Government is addressing 44 vacant school principal positions through a planned restructuring and rotation process. Regional Secretary Deden Aprindhi Hartawan stated that the government aims to rotate current principals to ensure their placements align with their residential domiciles, reducing long commutes. Once this rotation is complete, the vacancies will be filled following a technical regulation process and a Computer Assisted Test (CAT) system.

In a separate administrative effort, the Banten Provincial Government is undergoing the 2026 Government Institution Performance Accountability System (SAKIP) evaluation by the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform. The evaluation focuses on ensuring that government processes—from planning and budgeting to implementation—are result-oriented rather than merely administrative. Banten's SAKIP score has shown an upward trend, rising from 66.45 points in 2021 to 69.50 points in 2025.
