Banten resumes in-person schooling after volcanic ash disruption

The Banten Provincial Education and Culture Office has issued a circular to resume in-person learning starting September 14, 2026. This follows a week of remote learning necessitated by volcanic ash from Mount Anak Krakatau.

Jamaludin, Head of the Banten Education and Culture Office, instructed educational units to monitor and report air quality regularly to ensure student safety and health. The directive includes contingency plans should volcanic activity increase, emphasizing that the safety and comfort of all educational community members remain the top priority.
