Bantul DPRD urges alternative funding for 600 km road target

The Bantul Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) is urging the local government to seek funding sources beyond the Regional Budget (APBD) to achieve its target of developing and improving 600 kilometers of roads.

This recommendation follows limited road repair progress over the last two years, where total repairs reportedly did not reach 100 km. For 2026, planned improvements cover only 18.8 km across 63 road sections. Suradal, Vice Chairman of the Bantul DPRD, suggested utilizing Special Financial Assistance (BKK) from the Yogyakarta Special Region and central government programs, such as Presidential Instructions (Inpres) for infrastructure.

There is also potential for an additional Rp100 billion from the central government in 2027, which could be directed toward regional flagship programs, including road infrastructure.
