Banyumas police arrest suspect for construction site theft

Police in Banyumas have arrested a 29-year-old man, identified by the initial T, for the theft of construction equipment and electrical cables from a building project in Tambaksari Kidul Village, Kembaran District.

The theft was discovered on the morning of September 7, 2026, when workers found the storage warehouse empty. The suspect allegedly gained entry by damaging a door with a hammer and pliers. Stolen items included an electric welding machine, three grinders, a drill, and several rolls of electrical cable.

Total losses are estimated at approximately Rp5.47 million. Banyumas Police Chief Kombes Pol Petrus P. Silalahi confirmed that evidence has been secured following the investigation.
