Baobab theater show debuts at Naples' Maschio Angioino
The multisensory performance "Baobab", freely inspired by Antoine de Saint‑Exupéry's *The Little Prince*, was presented in its national preview on 5 August 2026 at 21:30 in the historic Maschio Angioino castle in Naples. The event, organised and funded by the Comune di Napoli as part of the "Estate a Napoli 2026 – Teatro e danza al Castello" programme, offered free admission until seats were filled.
Produced by Inbilico, the show combines theatre, dance, music, circus arts, cinema and extensive video‑mapping that transforms the castle into a constantly changing universe. The cast includes established Italian actors Nunzia Schiano, Agostino Chiummariello and Raffaele Ausiello, young talents Mario Autore and Giovanna Sannino, aerial dancer Marco Mannucci as the Little Prince, Ramona Tripodi providing the protagonist’s voice, and Lino Guanciale as the pilot’s voice. Sound design was created by Andrea Canova, video‑mapping by Andrea Savoia and video animation by Eleonora Savoia. Director Tripodi said the aim was to make the experience accessible and to mock the seriousness of the “big” while inviting audiences of all ages.
A future indoor version with a fully 3‑D installation is planned for the next theatre season.
