Baoding car crashes into shopping mall, injuring two

On September 20, a vehicle crashed into the entrance of the Beiguo Xiantianxia Plaza shopping mall in Baoding, Hebei province. The incident, which occurred around 5:00 PM, resulted in at least two people sustaining minor injuries.

Local authorities, including the Baoding Public Security Bureau Traffic Management Detachment, reported that the driver, identified as a person surnamed Sun, lost control of the vehicle due to improper operation. Police investigations have ruled out driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

While official reports cite operational error, local witnesses and online commentators have raised suspicions that the crash may have been an intentional act of social retaliation. Some observers noted the presence of security personnel and provincial officials at the scene, and reported that bystanders were discouraged from taking photographs of the incident.
