Baomarc faces potential extraordinary administration to avoid liquidation

The future of Baomarc, a component manufacturer for Stellantis, may be secured through extraordinary administration rather than liquidation. Following a meeting at the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (Mimit), a proposal has emerged to appoint commissioners to ensure production continuity and seek a new buyer.

This path serves as an alternative to the decision by majority Chinese shareholder Baosteel to initiate judicial liquidation. Trade unions, including Ugl Metalmeccanici, are advocating for this measure to protect approximately 280 jobs across plants in Atessa, Lanciano, and Chivasso.

Regional officials and unions note that the company remains active with ongoing orders from Stellantis. The final decision now rests with the company's board of directors, which must decide whether to accept the ministerial proposal or proceed with the liquidation process.
