Baoqing County hosts 2026 Village BA Northern Division basketball tournament

The 2026 National Harmony Rural Basketball Tournament (Village BA) Northern Division has commenced in Baoqing County, Shuangyashan, Heilongjiang Province. The event features 16 teams and over 200 athletes representing 10 provinces and municipalities, including Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanxi, Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, and Shandong.

The tournament is scheduled to run for six days, consisting of six rounds and 36 matches. The top five teams from this northern division will advance to the national finals to compete against winners from the central and southern divisions. Subsequent stages of the tournament are planned for Yibin, Sichuan; Nanning, Guangxi; and Enshi, Hubei.

To promote rural revitalization, the event integrates sports with agriculture, culture, and tourism. Activities include a “Black Soil Premium” harvest market for local agricultural products, a photography exhibition on rural development, and cultural art festivals. The initiative aims to convert sports interest into economic growth for the region.
