Bar Municipality launches initiatives for youth drama and social equality

The Municipality of Bar has announced several initiatives aimed at cultural development and social inclusion. Through the ‘Young People on Stage’ public call, the municipality supported the drama section of the Secondary School of Economics and Hospitality in Bar for the 2025/2026 school year. This support enabled students to participate in drama and film workshops, celebrate World Theatre Day, and perform a Renaissance-themed production in Old Bar. Additionally, students represented Montenegro at the ‘Udahni pozorište’ festival in Ohrid.

In a separate effort to promote social rights, the municipality has issued public calls to implement a Local Action Plan for gender equality and the improvement of life quality for LGBTIQ+ individuals. These initiatives include training on gender statistics, an entrepreneurship fair for women from rural areas, and workshops on peer violence. The plan also features a campaign titled ‘Zero Tolerance for Violence Against Women and LGBTIQ+ Persons, Hate Speech, and Misogyny,’ alongside activities marking the ‘16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence’.
