Bar Municipality leads Montenegro in municipal fee revenue
Bar Municipality has recorded the highest revenue from municipal fees in Montenegro during the first half of the year, according to a report from the Ministry of Finance. The municipality collected 7.54 million euros in fees, surpassing the capital city, Podgorica.
In Bar, the primary revenue driver was the communal equipping of construction land, which accounted for 6.49 million euros. Other significant contributors included the use of natural resources and nautical tourism ports (797,780 euros), municipal roads (115,731 euros), and vehicle registration (111,467 euros).
Nationwide, local governments collected a total of 385.62 million euros from January to July, with 31.94 million euros coming specifically from fees. Podgorica followed Bar with 6.20 million euros in fees, largely driven by communal services. Other coastal municipalities also reported high inflows from communal equipping, including Kotor, Ulcinj, Herceg Novi, and Budva.
