Bar RIO reopens in Kraków

The historic Bar RIO in Kraków has officially reopened following a several-month closure. Established in 1959, the establishment is considered a cultural landmark and a former meeting point for the city's artistic bohemia, including figures such as Tadeusz Kantor and Piotr Skrzynecki.

New owners, representatives of Cabaret Sp. z o. o., intend to maintain the venue's original mid-century character while introducing a contemporary rhythm. The interior preserves its historical identity, featuring a black-and-white checkered floor and the distinctive long, black counters designed by Kraków architect Leopold Pędziałka.

The menu continues to feature the bar's signature coffee with whipped cream, alongside homemade pastries like cheesecake and fruit crumbles, as well as savory options. The café operates daily from 9:00 to 21:00.
