Two children have died and a third remains missing after drowning in a rainwater-filled pit at a factory under construction in the Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh. The incident occurred on Sunday evening near Bain village, within the jurisdiction of the Kursi police station.

The three children, identified as Deva (13), Sumit (10), and Divyansh (15), reportedly went to the site to bathe in a deep pit created during excavation that had filled with rainwater following recent storms. Local villagers attempted a rescue and transported Deva and Sumit to a private hospital, where they were pronounced dead by doctors.

Search operations for Divyansh are ongoing, involving Kursi police and local divers. Authorities are expected to investigate how the children accessed the construction site and evaluate the safety measures in place at the facility.
