Barack Obama to campaign for Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan
Former President Barack Obama is scheduled to campaign for Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed in Detroit on Saturday, October 24. The event is part of a tight Michigan Senate race where El-Sayed faces Republican Mike Rogers.
This alliance follows years of sharp criticism from El-Sayed toward Obama's administration. In past editorials and interviews, El-Sayed characterized Obama's presidency as a failure, specifically citing issues such as the continuation of war, the erosion of civil liberties, record deportation numbers, and an insufficient approach to healthcare through the Affordable Care Act.
