Barack Obama to campaign in Ohio for Democrats

Former President Barack Obama is scheduled to visit Cleveland on October 24 to support Democratic candidates in two high-profile Ohio midterm races. Obama will campaign alongside former U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown and gubernatorial nominee Dr. Amy Acton.

Sherrod Brown is running to reclaim his Senate seat against Republican Senator Jon Husted, who was appointed to the position following JD Vance’s transition to vice president. The contest is viewed as a potential factor in determining Senate control. Meanwhile, Dr. Amy Acton, a former health official, is seeking to succeed term-limited Republican Governor Mike DeWine, facing Republican Vivek Ramaswamy in the gubernatorial race.

The visits come amid significant campaign spending and national attention, as both Democrats and Republicans deploy prominent figures to influence the outcome in the state.
