Barack Obama to host new podcast ‘A Great Book’ with Audible

Former President Barack Obama will host a new six-episode Audible podcast titled ‘A Great Book,’ which is set to debut on September 24, 2026. The series is a collaboration between Audible and Higher Ground, the production company founded by Barack and Michelle Obama.

Obama will be joined by various thinkers, writers, and artists to discuss the books that have shaped their lives and perspectives on identity, power, memory, and culture. The guest lineup includes actor Tom Hanks, author Ta-Nehisi Coates, historian Jill Lepore, former National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes, author Percival Everett, and author Lauren Groff.

Specific episodes will feature discussions on works such as ‘Gilead’ by Marilynne Robinson, ‘The Fire Next Time’ by James Baldwin, and ‘Song of Solomon’ by Toni Morrison. Following its exclusive debut on Audible, the podcast will be released on YouTube and other podcasting platforms later in the year.
