Barahona Mayor announces pothole repair program

Mayor Mictor Fernández has announced a pothole repair program in Barahona, scheduled to begin this Thursday at 10:00 a.m. The initiative is being carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Public Works to address deteriorating street conditions following resident complaints.

The work will commence at the corner of Sánchez Street and Luperón Avenue and will continue through Friday. The Mayor has requested that residents identify and report specific areas of deterioration to the City Hall to ensure they are included in the program.

Certain areas, such as the extension of Luperón Avenue at the corner of Antonio Méndez Circumvallation Avenue, will be addressed in a later stage due to ongoing sewage issues that require intervention by the National Institute of Drinking Water and Sewerage (INAPA) first.
