Barakaldo libraries launch storytelling series amid solar eclipse preparations

A new edition of the storytelling program ‘Once Upon a Time’ is launching across various libraries in Barakaldo, Spain. The schedule includes sessions at the Arteagaebaiati, Gurutzeta, San Vicente, Lutxana, Retuerta, and Arrontegi libraries, featuring various authors and stories tailored for children aged 1 to 8.

In a separate event, a solar eclipse is expected to occur, with the Moon passing between the Earth and the Sun for approximately one minute. Authorities in the Basque Country and Navarre have issued safety warnings regarding potential traffic congestion and large crowds. The Navarre Government has allocated 700,000 euros to the ‘Eclipse Project,’ which includes setting up 20 viewing sites in locations such as Fitero, Lodos, Tafalla, Tudela, and Castejon to manage the expected gathering of approximately 50,476 people. Experts advise using specialized solar filters to view the eclipse safely.
