Baramulla security forces arrest OGW, seize MP‑5 pistol and ammo

During a joint operation in the Narwaw area of Baramulla district, Jammu & Kashmir, Indian Army’s 46 National Rifles, the SOG Baramulla unit, CRPF’s 53rd Battalion and BSF’s 112th Battalion established a checkpoint at the Jandfaran‑Gorivan crossing. Security personnel detained a suspect identified as Ajaz Ahmed Gani, son of the late Mohammad Sultan Gani and resident of Nambalan, Shiri.

A search of the detainee yielded a camouflage‑coloured MP‑5 pistol, a magazine loaded with ten live 9 mm rounds, a mobile phone and a black backpack. An FIR has been lodged under relevant sections, and investigators are probing his contacts, the source of the weapons and any links to terrorist networks. The operation has been described as a significant achievement in the ongoing anti‑terror campaign in the valley.
