Barantin and Palu City partner to boost commodity exports
The Indonesian Quarantine Agency (Barantin) and the Palu City Government have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to boost the export of regional commodities. This strategic partnership aims to drive local economic growth by developing superior agricultural and fishery products, such as cocoa and tuna.
The cooperation focuses on enhancing the supervision of animal, fish, plant, and derivative product traffic. Additionally, the agreement includes strengthening community education, utilizing information technology and digital services, and supporting the optimization of regional revenue.
Abdul Kadir Karding, Head of Barantin, stated that the collaboration is a strategic step to strengthen quarantine functions while fostering regional economic development. Palu Mayor Hadianto Rasyid noted that the partnership positions the quarantine agency as a strategic partner in improving the quality, competitiveness, and added value of local goods for international markets.
