Amit Shah inaugurates Delhi's Barapullah Phase-3 corridor

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has inaugurated the Barapullah Phase-3 elevated corridor in Delhi, a 10-kilometer signal-free stretch connecting Mayur Vihar Phase-1 to Sarai Kale Khan. The project, which faced a nine-year delay after receiving approval in 2014, has a revised cost of approximately 1,635 crore rupees. The new corridor is expected to significantly reduce travel time between Noida and AIIMS to between 15 and 20 minutes, providing relief from traffic congestion in East and South Delhi. The infrastructure includes dedicated lanes for pedestrians and cyclists.

In a separate development, Punjab Police dismantled three drug trafficking and illegal arms supply networks in Amritsar, arresting five individuals and recovering 13 pistols, 3.267 kg of heroin, and 22 cartridges. This crackdown occurred as Amit Shah visited Jalandhar for the BJP’s ‘Nasha Mukt Punjab Yatra’ campaign. Additionally, Indian agencies conducted a major maritime operation in the Arabian Sea, seizing 526 kg of heroin and methamphetamine from an Iranian boat, an operation involving the Gujarat ATS and the Indian Coast Guard.
