Barapullah Phase III corridor to open in Delhi on September 29
The Barapullah Phase III elevated corridor in Delhi is scheduled to open to the public on September 29. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to inaugurate the project.
The new corridor will connect Mayur Vihar Phase I with Sarai Kale Khan, linking with the existing Barapullah stretch to create a signal-free route of approximately 9 km. This infrastructure is designed to improve connectivity between East Delhi, Noida, and South Delhi, specifically providing faster access to areas such as AIIMS by bypassing congested stretches and traffic signals.
The project features a four-lane elevated corridor, a bridge over the Yamuna, and various loops and ramps. Notably, the corridor is described as the country’s first flyover to include dedicated facilities for both pedestrians and cyclists.
