Barbacoas receives certification for victim assistance management

The municipality of Barbacoas has received the 2025 Territorial Certification from the Unidad para las Víctimas. This certification evaluates how local entities implement public policies regarding victim assistance.

Local authorities noted that the recognition is significant given that there are 16,486 registered victims in the municipality. The certification reflects coordinated efforts between the Municipal Administration, the Municipal Peace Institute, the Personería Municipal, and the National System for Comprehensive Assistance and Reparation to Victims (SNARIV).

Margaret Angulo, director of the Municipal Peace Institute, stated that the result serves as an incentive to continue strengthening institutional care, guaranteeing rights, and promoting the participation and integral reparation of the victim population.
