Barbados to launch Chapman Challenge youth initiative in September
The Chapman Challenge, a national initiative under the patronage of Barbados President Jeffrey Bostic, is scheduled to officially launch on September 23. The programme is designed to foster leadership, discipline, and character among Barbadian youth aged 10 to 24 through structured pathways of mentorship and community engagement.
Operating on a voluntary, part-time service model, the initiative utilizes a three-tiered framework consisting of Foundation, Development, and Leadership stages. Participants will progress through civic engagement and structured service to develop leadership skills.
To recognize achievements, the programme will issue bronze to platinum service badges and Presidential Awards for exceptional service. An annual awards ceremony will be held on International Youth Day to celebrate the contributions of both participants and mentors.
