Barbados Tridents defeat Jamaica Kingsmen by five runs

The Barbados Tridents secured a narrow five-run victory over the Jamaica Kingsmen at Sabina Park during a Caribbean Premier League fixture. Chasing a target of 207, the Kingsmen reached 201 for nine after a significant late-innings recovery.

The Kingsmen's chase initially struggled, falling to eight for three within the first two overs. However, Andre Russell scored 68 runs off 38 deliveries, and Vitel Lawes contributed 32 runs off 20 balls to bring the team close to victory. Russell's performance also marked his 2,000-run milestone in CPL history.

For the Tridents, Daniel Sams led the bowling effort with figures of 4 for 20, supported by Chris Green, who took 2 for 27. The match concluded in the final over when Russell was dismissed by Raymon Simmons.
