Barbalha shooting kills woman and wounds man

A woman, Francisca Gerlane Fernandes Pereira, 29, was fatally shot and a man, Cícero Jean Fernandes Pereira, 31, was injured during a gun attack in the Mata dos Limas neighbourhood of Barbalha, Ceará, Brazil. Two men on a motorcycle arrived at the scene around 19:00, one of them exited the vehicle and opened fire on the couple before fleeing. Emergency services pronounced Francisca dead at the scene; the man's condition was not disclosed. Police secured the area and forensic teams began an investigation, but the motive and identities of the perpetrators remain unknown.
