Barbara Brown reunites with biological family in Greece after 65 years

Barbara Brown, born in Athens in 1959, has reunited with her biological family in Greece after 65 years. Adopted as an infant by American parents, Brown was taken to the United States and was aware of her adoption, though her adoptive parents had previously discouraged her from searching for her biological roots.

Following the death of her adoptive parents, Brown began a search that was aided by the Eftychia Project. A DNA test conducted by her nephew eventually led to the discovery of her biological relatives in 2023. Brown met her family for the first time in 2024.

Brown, who currently resides in Texas and has a family of her own, expressed gratitude for the reunion. Her biological mother had faced significant hardships, including being placed in foster care as a child and being forced to give her daughter up for adoption due to financial instability.
